Review: Sapor by Wotofo

The Sapor is an inexpensive top airflow RDA from Wotofo that provides an excellent vaping experience and a build quality that rivals other, higher priced RDAs.

Aesthetics/Build Quality

One of the most obvious differences between an authentic and clone atomizer is the build quality.  While being bargain priced the Sapor retains the build quality expected from higher-end authentic atomizers.  The barrel is solid and thick with a nice weighty feel to it.  The deck posts are square and thick solid metal.  No rough edges, burrs, or

machine oil was noticed on first disassembly.  A few rough machining marks can be seen on the deck but they’re merely aesthetic.  The inner barrel and deck is free from paint mostly with only slight over spray around the airflow holes.  The o-rings are extremely tight initially but loosen up with use.  After a few weeks use they’re perfect.

Being honest, I was drawn to the splatter lime green appearance of the Sapor.  It’s available in 10 different colors but lime green is one of my favorites, especially with the “zombie blood splatter” look.  The Sapor has been noted to have a top hat appearance.  This look is further accentuated when using the black broadcap.

Included in the box is the atomizer, broadcap, 510 drip tip adapter, and 510 drip tip.  A healthy bag of extra parts is also included.  Multiple sizes of o-rings, grub screws, and a very nice quality T shaped tool that is actually the perfect size for the grub screws.

Functionality

The Sapor is very easy to build on.  The 4 post deck makes the positioning of coils a breeze and the large post holes will accommodate a lot of variations in custom coils. A nice deep juice well keeps you vaping without re-dripping constantly.

The vapor is much smoother than other top airflow atomizers I have tried that have multiple holes versus the Sapor’s wide oval holes.

Top airflow works quite well.  The airflow control protrudes from the top like the brim of a hat.  It is slightly difficult to adjust with smooth edges and would have been perfect with a more coarse ring around the outside.

A large benefit to top airflow is reduced chance of leaking.  You can lay the Sapor on it’s side or at an angle and rarely if ever have any juice leaking out of it.  In fact I have not had one bit after some daily carrying while on vacation.  Another typical source of leaking is juice popping out of the side airflow which is not a problem with the Sapor.  The quality o-rings further assist in keeping the Sapor leak free and I have yet to have a juice ring along the base of the atomizer when removing it.

There is a small sacrifice in flavor compared to traditional side airflow.  However, the vapor is much smoother than other top airflow atomizers I have tried that have multiple holes versus the Sapor’s wide oval holes.  Using my current standard build of dual 26g 2.5mm coils I find the broadcap to be a bit too airy and low on flavor.  Included in the box is a wide bore 510 drip tip with a delrin core that fits in place of the broad cap.  This drip tip works great for me and still allows easy dripping through the tip.  It does however have a slight edge that protrudes into the barrel that will disrupt the vapor from funneling smoothly along the underside of the top cap through the tip.  You can also use the adapter ring included to use a 510 drip tip of your choice.

Summary

The 4 post deck is easy to build on and the deep juice well requires less frequent dripping.

I am not necessarily blown away with the Sapor, but it is a quality atomizer.  I find it’s fantastic for being out-and-about or while driving.  The juice well holds enough juice to get you from point A to point B or the next light in between.  While the flavor is slightly lacking, it is still better than a lot of RDAs, and on par with the great ones I have tried.  I really enjoy the variability offered out of the box with the different sized tips and adapters.  This is my first experience with Wotofo but taking into account the quality and style for the price it will not be my last.

Vaping since Jan 1, 2014. When I first started I was lost in the world of vaping. I didn't know where to begin. Once I found my way I wanted to help others on their path. So I started writing juice reviews on JuiceDB and eventually started reviewing new hardware I purchased. While I don't consider myself an expert, I am somewhat of a vetern of vaping, and I hope my casual-advanced vaper opinion provides you assistance.
